You won't believe who Interpol is looking for: Sex blogger Alvin Tan

This article is more than 12 months old

Yes, Alvin Tan has joined the list of dastardly criminal masterminds being hunted down by Interpol.

The notorious sex blogger has disappeared and an arrest warrant has been issued for him.

Malaysia's Inspector General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said on Tuesday that his officers were liaising with Interpol to bring Tan back.

The arrest warrant was issued against Tan for failing to return his passport to the court after a trip to Singapore.

'Nothing we can do'

Tan's lawyer, Mr Chong Joo Tian, said he has been unable to get in touch with Tan.

He said: "There is nothing we can do, except call his handphone. His family members have tried to contact him and sent him SMSes, but there has been no response."

The 26-year-old had successfully applied to the court to have his passport released to him for the period of May 18 to June 3 so he could shoot a documentary in Singapore with his ex-girlfriend Vivian Lee May Ling, 25.

The deadline came and passed, and only Lee surrendered her passport.

The pair shot to fame over their now-defunct Sumptuous Erotica sex blog. They claimed trial last year to three charges under the Film Censorship Act, Sedition Act and the Penal Code.
